Wednesday, January 25th 2012 14:34

Suspects picked up, despite operation being scaled down

The investigation into the riots in Wolverhampton, Birmingham and West Bromwich may be scaling down, but police are still making arrests.

Another 10 were picked up in the region yesterday.

Three have been charged with burglary offences, two bailed pending futher enquiries, and five have been released without charge.

Acting Detective Inspector Julie Woods said: "As long as there are still outstanding suspects in relation to the disorder, work will continue behind the scenes to bring them into custody.

"If you were involved and have not yet been caught, the best thing you can do is hand yourself in; otherwise we will be coming for you."
